I Made a T-Shirt Design
Mar 12, 2026
I made a Resident Evil t-shirt, because there are no good Resident Evil t-shirts.
If you must know and do not already, Resident Evil is a video game (turned movies) series I have been a fan of since I was a kid. Provoked by the incredible release of Resident Evil: Requiem, I wanted to see if there were any neat merch available on the production agency's website. I, unfortunately, was quite underwhelmed by the selection. I hit the back arrow to my Google search where I found a (gulp) Reddit thread about this very dilemma. These aren't my words, but some Redditors stated it looked like they handed off the graphic design task to "an eleven year old," in which someone responded "no, an eleven year old would feel more inclined to put in effort." I feel that sentiment is a bit harsh, however, very funny. To be fair, Resident Evil predates my existence, so they certainly had time to make a few more stunning options.
Then, I remembered that I am classically trained in the art of eleven year old graphic design!
I took up the new task of creating a design to slap on a t-shirt and possibly make available online for people to buy!
I started off here with a simple silhouette/line design to start and test the waters. This one is based on Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. I added some aspects of the game like the setting, and the main antagonist, as well as an important umbrella logo from the series. Also, a bit of textures reminiscent of the appearance of just about everything in this game. Lastly, gotta add the abbreviation of the title on it, as well; very much in my own handwriting and dissimilar to any logo in order to not get involved with the law. Possibly. I had the logo for Biohazard on the bottom but promptly removed that after some Google searches.
I haven't printed, published, or solicited any of the shirts yet—I am going to buy a cheeky sample for myself, though—I would like to share them on Etsy, but I actually am very scared of big companies and the law. I probably can avoid any issues, however. We'll see.
I used Printify for the shirts, limiting the color options to basic neutrals for now.
Here's the designs and the shirts:

If I choose to make more designs or publish a shop, I'll update those here, as well. ✌
