Star-Crossed Tank Top

My first clothing design and embroidery up for sale.

Alright, so I'm taking upcycling clothes a bit more seriously, making them up-to-par for selling them to other people. I have this top listed on Depop right now, with more to come soon. It's quite exciting.

The design is based off the metaphor "Star-crossed lovers." The red string is a nod to the "red string theory" that soulmates are connected by a finger with a red string. Pretty much made the two stars very on love.

To make the stars on the top, I used fabric from a scrap pair of jeans I have and traced out my design sketched out on Procreate, and sewed those on. The facial details, along with the red string hand wrap, are just simple embroidery.

The red string connecting across is thread tied into loops at the end. I used buttons to connect the loops in order to make the string removable for washing, etc. I have all details on this top sealed with fabric glue to prevent wear or fraying over time (especially on the thread which is completely sealed), but the thread can still be delicate fundamentally.

I made tags and branding logos for myself on the normal spot and a little logo on the back collar. It's just for fun and some extra detail plus care.

Anyway, It's listed as of yesterday for $25. Hope someone likes it enough to buy it soon at that price (fingers crossed). I'm excited to make more.
