Ring
2026
Who?
Ring, or ring doorbell/camera, is a device and app security system for homes, often placed outside entrance doors. The brand name is sometimes aligned with online funny, scary, cute, or odd videos they catch outside people's homes.
Why?
Combining the “caught on camera” horror trope with iconic horror anomalies (Slenderman, Moth Man, apparitions, etc.), this campaign positions Ring as a tool for awareness and protection against the creepy unknown. It targets internet-native horror audiences by turning the fear of unwanted encounters into a compelling reason for home security.
How?
Five billboards, one social post, and one commercial. The campaign imagery is from the POV of ring camera at night, used as a base for adding in horror figures; sometimes obvious, sometimes not. The placement of the logo, etc. is meant to mimic the appearance of real exported ring footage. The tagline (theme) "Not another horror story" represents stopping an encounter before it becomes a problem, despite how it may first appear.
TL;DR Goals:
Brand likability Audience targeting Campaign development Provoking emotion
